We are now accepting applications via Registration Zone "Desert Scorpion VI - 11 June 2026".

The common theme at this year's Wing Conference was "Why?"   For Desert Scorpion, the WHY is that you will be empowered by learning mission-critical skills in navigation, communication, and ES field operations.  Those critical thinking skills and practical applications will prepare you for not only real-world CAP search and rescue operations in unpredictable environments, but also in everyday challenges - at home, school, and in life.  

Cost is $250 per student.    Requirements to attend are C/SSgt, GTM3, ICUT, and having completed an Encampment.  

This is not your typical Cadet Programs training event – we are not an encampment, and you will spend the majority of your time in the field, doing hands-on training.  Although you may be signed off on ES SQTR items, that is not our focus.   DS is designed to make you think on your feet during a mission; not to make excuses, but to make things happen. 

Slots are restricted to 21 Trainees/Students.  Applications will be accepted on a first come-first served basis.
